I don't like the mass merchandising of Shag's art either, but the man deserves to be successful. It's just what happens in a capitalist economy. The demand for product becomes huge. Do you expect Shag to turn down fame and fortune on some artistic principle? I would take the money while it's there if I were him. We don't have to buy the stuff. I have not bought a Shag mug yet because I would rather spend my $30 on something else (like a vintage mug) even though I do like his mugs.
