Aloha Tiki Central Ohana!

It's Kari Hendler from Tiki Magazine. Well, the shiny advertising poster isn't ready yet, but I can't keep the lid on this any longer! You may have already heard rumors of something new and exciting happening at Damon's, and it's true. I'm co-producing my first Tiki event at fabulous and exotic Damon's Steak House in Glendale on Sunday, December 16th. It's going to be a Tiki-tacular holiday-themed party with the kicker being A BIG-DEAL CONCERT by Tiki Joe's Ocean, playing your favorite holiday tunes, interpreted as only TJO can! (If you own their "Tiki Joe's Christmas" cd, then you KNOW what I'm talking about!) Tiki Joe's Ocean's is, literally, a "super-group", that includes ("Mr. TJO") Andy Nazzal, Marty Lush, Alika Lyman (yes, THAT Lyman) and others.

And if hearing Tiki Joe's Ocean LIVE, in the splendor that is Damon's, has you all a-tingle, then ride this wave:

The doors will open around 5:00 p.m.. for you to do some tropical Christmas shopping in Damon's back party room while enjoying a few special Tiki cocktails created for this evening. Our talented artist friend, "Thor" will be there, rum-ablazing, giving us his famous rum painting demonstration. (And the painting he'll be working on will be raffled off during the party, along with other great items!) Don't forget to bring your camera, because "Crazy (Al) Sant'r" will greet all you good boys and girls (and even you naughty ones), and we all know a photo with him makes THE perfect Christmas card to send your friends!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! Around 6:30 p.m., a specially-created, island-inspired, three-course feast will be served, followed by the Tiki Joe's Ocean show. So, yes, Damon's is literally being transformed into a wonderful, old-school, tropical supper club for the night. And why shouldn't it? It's been around since 1937!

This will be a unique Tiki event filled with stocking-stuffing shopping, swanky drinking, fine dining and an outstanding musical show. What better way to Tikify your holidays than to be part of this night? And the whole shindig is being sponsored by Bacardi, so expect some extra surprises! And, yes, we all know Sunday is a "school night", but don't worry -- the concert will end around 9:30 p.m. (Plenty of time for you to toddle on home and get your beauty sleep.)

So here's the deal (and it IS a deal!): For the special three-course dinner and show package (which also includes a "swag bag" gift!) the cost is $50.00 per person, not including tax and gratuity. (Tip your waitress, folks.) Yes, you read correctly. You get all this fun, food and swag for only $50.00!

If you just want to see the show and enjoy the ambiance, you can also join in for $20.00 per person, but this is for back bar area seating ONLY. The $20.00 admission DOES NOT include dinner or the swag bag, although you will be able to order bar food from Damon's regular menu. And this type of reservation does not guarantee you will actually get to plant your posterior in a chair. It's first come, first serve for bar seating, but even if you end up standing, you'll still have a great time.

Come "Ho Ho Ho with Tiki Joe"... and me, your hostess, at classic and beloved Damon's on Sunday, December 16th! It's going to be a heck of a night! We can't wait to see you! And, oh hey, look... mistletoe!
