You start out doing it solely for the love of what you do. Then you acheive some success,and with that, the inevitable money that follows. Downside is: in Oakland they start protesting you and calling you an "evil 1 percenter!" because you do so well at what you do, and are rewarded for it. Sometimes I wish I was still a amateur, still just doing it only for the love of the act itself. Not for the commercial appeal and gain of my work, which sems to be the case now.
