After the bisque fire I scrub the inside and outside and then let it dry. Then, I rinse mine in the sink before I glaze, or I spray it inside and out with water. But I've also forgotten to do this and had things turn out fine. But one particle of dust will cause your glaze to crawl away from it leaving a glaze skip. This can be re-glazed but that's costly.
