Did you soak it first in water? Otherwise the tiny holes that caused them would still be working their magic. It's really hard to make holes go away. That's why I pound the outside of the mold with a rubber mallet as the slip is poured inside. You get to learn all the pitfalls on your first two mugs. It took me since August 2010 to find them all!
