You have my # now-PLEASE call next time you're in Orange!

Okay folks! time for some sketches
a lot of these were just mullings
over how to tackle the 3 Tiki categories
for the GARGANTUA exhibition...
and seeing how an artist should share
not only work
but peeks into the process

here they are....
First...some PNG studies before the Surfboard idea sprouted up...

a PNG Meeting/Men's House

Next category was Rapa Nui....Easter Island

and then it hit me! a scene....Orongos dancing around a Moai!
So i drew it....

and then painted it!

BUT!!!!! Unfortunately....
I'm bound to show only
studies
and in-progress
and close-up shots
BUT NEVER the finished painting
UNTIL the March exhibition....
My apologies...

Anyways......
MARQUESAN!
This category required some muddling
some mulling over
and sketchbook studies..

Saw a GREAT PNG exhibition at the Bowers Museum the last day of last year
and threw down $300 on books...including a few Oceanic ones!

and then it hit...LIKE A SHOCK OF Pure BAM!
how about a bar scene with Marquesan themed mugs and artifacts...

and the painting was done awhile back
but ....alas.......
Only close-ups
no whole painting
YET...

That's all i got for you all for now

Until our outriggers meet again....
