I did make a Jungle Bird the other day just to try the recipe. Very tasty!

I have been mainly using the Aperol in French drinks lately. I have been on a big absinthe kick for quite some time so I have been going through those recipes. I don't mind the Absinthe forward drinks, even the Earthquake. But I am strange I guess.

Went to Bali Hai last night and almost went through the whole "strong" menu, just didn't have a scorpion bowl.

Tasted some Denizen rum after that.

I think it would be a good sub for Appleton, it leaned more toward the Jamaican side in my opinion.

Here is a Cardenal I made the other day. My friend broke my good Mezcal, and replaced it with this garbage (last time he gets behind my bar) so the drink was way off and I had to go buy more Mezcal. Good use for Aperol though.

Here is the recipe if you are interested:
1.5 oz Mezcal
.75 oz Aperol
.75 oz sweet Vermouth
1.5 oz Blood Orange Juice

Here is me in the process of reverse engineering a drink from a local bar. Almost there, but my "hellfire" bitters are not hot enough. I need more heat!

This is something I threw together, I guess a Scotch Fizz or something close to it. I wanted something smokey but the Mezcal I had sucked so I switched to Scotch. I really have been enjoying the Absinthe as well as egg white drinks. I am still a bit scared to experiment with Absinthe though, I would like to learn more recipes first. I did have some success making a Corpse Reviver #2 Fizz, pretty tasty!

The Necromancer is one of my favorite recipes, but it is another that is Absinthe forward. Here is that recipe:

1.5 oz Absinthe Verte
.5 oz bottled water
.5 oz Creme de Violette
1 dash Peychaud bitters
garnish with edible flowers (purple)

I just bought some edible flowers for my garden, so I will soon post a pic of this drink with the full garnish.

Sorry, not all of these are tiki, I usually will stick to rum or tiki on this thread :)

I am going to Tiki Ti on Friday, if anyone out there in internetsville wants to have a drink. I am going to try to get there at 4 when they open. I will be posting pictures!
