Tree is identified. It is none other than "Ficus Elastica" better known as a "Rubber'tree. ( Not to be confused with SouthAmerican Para Rubber tree which is our source of raw rubber. This is a Southern Asian variety and latex render as well.)

It's the one growing in the corner of the parking lot at Don the Beachcomber. They trimmed up the stray roots and I grabbed one because it had an interesting shape. Seeing how a different material or species will work is half the fun!
