Hey all, nube here. Can post pics later but I am building a tiki bar in my basement.
The bar is L shaped and I have built a cane bamboo front for it using cane from my
backyard. I have bought a couple of red cushioned bar stools from Steinmart as well.
The ceiling is a cedar lattice with puck lights sticking out casually every once in awhile.
I plan on doing the other side of the room by painting the walls dark blue, adding white
Christmas lights as starfields, perhaps with some LED's thrown in. The bottom half of
the wall I plan to use reed rolls (Menard's) to make a fence. Also, I plan on building
a sort of tiki walk in hut that has corner poles, half height sides, thatched roof,
and 3 sided couch with table in middle. Going for the night at the beach effect.
Big problem I have is with behind the bar. I have the kitchen drain which comes down
and sticks out about 8-10 inches, also have a window at the top to the left of that.
Ideas?
I have old guitar/pa speaker boxes thinking of using them with lighting for shelves.
Will need to re-do the bar top also as it is flush with the front and sides and needs
to stick out about 8 inches. Maybe bamboo flooring or stone or something. Have though about
stone for the back wall also.
