Tyber Tiki I'm going to try to match the colors that I can see in the photo. I learned how to do better glazing when I did the octopus for IDoVooDoo. By the way, He is picking up this mug and his other Wishes tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing him and his wife.

===========================================

Every day possible we have been working on the Sacramento (Cap City) Crawl mug. These photos start on 2/27/15 and end on 3/31/15. One mug a day.

Cleanup to perfect each mug is around 2 hours. I have a lot of carving to do on the right screen side of the tiki.

I put them on our dining-room table as they are ready to dry.

I would pour another one for the next day and start over.

Eventually I started storing the fixed mugs on a shelf in the garage.

Another day another mug.

Another day another mug.

There are so many steps. Molds leak some and so each day the

mold pieces must be cleaned well

or they will not fit together and there will be larger leaks.

When the first 10 are on the shelf you begin to feel really happy.

For every mug we poured Dan did the clean up.

I started sanding and fine tuning the carving that each mug needed and then

Dan would use the air compressor to dust them.

The bottom level of the kiln is filled. When this first bisque firing is done they can touch each other. When they are glazed they cannot touch so the loads will hold a smaller number of mugs.

As soon as I had a full load we bisque fired. That meant it was time for Dan to fill the tubs for washing.

We brought them out and be began to

scrub and rinse them.

Now they go back into the house to await glazing.

A lot of steps to the finish but it's all worth it. Wendy
