LloydAlohaHAHA thank you for the visit and the photos. We enjoyed our time with you.

===============================

Beard update. I combed it out just before I did the trim. It's fun to play with his beard.

Our lawn front and back. Saving every drip we can. This drought is scary.

I was sitting at the table glazing when this came on the news. I can walk to this corner. I went outside and could see the news helicopter buzzing overhead. I'm so sorry for those of you who have just the opposite problem with too much rain and flooding.

Only one home was damaged and no one was hurt. Our fire department saved the day! It's super dry everywhere.

Dan set up and filled the buckets.

The crawl mugs are out of the kiln and needing to be washed.

I'm the scrubber and Dan's in charge of one last rinse in clear water..

I use sponges on sticks for the insides and

stiff brushes on the outside. They float and that helps so much.

You can see how much dust came off in my bucket and how clear Dan's is since I scrubbed so well.

All this water is poured on our bushes to save them. We do water them once a week which is allowed.

I threw in a bucket and hit a pruned stem. Ouch!

They have been carried into the house and covered with a tarp to prevent any dust from settling on them. Dust prevents glaze from sticking. It crawls away from the tiniest spec that you can't even see.

The next day it was time to start the glaze tests. I decided to just do one to see how well an IN glaze which shows detail would react to the troughs down the sides.

I poured in a peacock crystal glaze by Mayco into the inside. After the extra had drained out I wiped the edge clean.

I glazed the bottom where my name and the date is located.

Now the first layer goes on.

I let it dry overnight and

then I added a second layer.

The next day when the mug was again dry I chose colors for parts of the raised areas.

Now for the EXPERIMENT. I used CN glazes on top of the IN glazes. I wanted to see if I could skip the step of removing glaze before adding this one. I'd never done that before because my guess is that it wouldn't work.

Once it was dry it entered the kiln with the space ship and Wish List Projects. The date is 5/5/15

Cheers, Wendy
