I just got caught up on the thread. Everyones stuff is looking great.

As far as the "inspired by" "artist restrictions" "colors" talk, I guess I don't think about it because I'm not an artist. I can't draw. I copy images onto boards and carve them.
While I may take images that aren't normally together and combine them or create a new setting for them, I get them as close as I can in style and color. I do this because I love them for what they are..sentimental images I've seen since my childhood.

When I sit in the tiki room at disney I say "How cool would it be to have that".... of course I can't have it, so I attempt to make it as close as I can, or recreate the image to fit in a certain space or be more practical.

The Mad Dog Mike slit drum bottle is a perfect example of my thinking, I'll never be able to have a real one, so a small replica one to sit on the shelf is the next best thing.

Once again, I'm enjoying everyone's pieces.
