Hey Mike, welcome to TC! See if you can reach out to Koop Kooper in Sydney. He has been one of the key publicists of tiki and mid-century modern in that part of the country, and he publishes a very fine weekly podcast with a lot of great music and tiki and MCM news items. Not only can you learn about the state of the tiki and mid-century modern scene in and around Sydney and the world, but you could also find yourself inspired to stock up on things you need to make your own drinks at home. Not the same as being at a L.A. tiki bar, but at least you'll enjoy one aspect of it in your home. And your friends will be impressed!
