We've had a number of discussions here on that topic, some very recently. Start by reading this thread from July 2015 where a number of us chimed in (me included) on not only ice and various machines, but soft-versus-hard, chewing ice, buying bags of ice from Sonic, and lots more: Then do some more searches here on Tiki Central and you may find that you can get a good start on your quest direct from people who need to make ice for their cocktails.
