hang10tiki welcome back home. We didn't miss you but now we will miss the posts from Oahu! Actually we miss you all the time. I saw your "finds" and the bumatay vase is an outstanding one, very rare and valuable. Congratulations on a safe trip with the love of your life and bringing home more tiki treasures.

Glazing away...

When making the Wish List I had a mug failure. I cut it up and made the largest Tiki Bob necklace so far.

Bisque fired.

I always use white undercoat on the faces so that they are super white. When doing this I decided

to have Tiki Bob look sleepy.

I covered him with clear glaze and then decided to do an experiment.

I covered the IN glaze with the clear. I want to see how it effects the IN glaze.

Here's a little bit about my search for my niche in the art world.

I bought tank and rods and flux and all that was needed to be an oxygen acetylene torch welder. I made sail boats with copper sails and people fishing etc. Here I did a Maestro conducting. I broke off the bottoms that held him on a wooden block. I even had a router to do the edges of the wood.

That was not fun work. After a couple of years I started painting again and eventually found ceramics.
