Nice. You shoulda finished the night with a pain killer!

Oddly enough, I randomly decided to make pina coladas a month or so back. Silly me. It did absolutely nothing for me except waste my rum and give my wife's sister heartburn.

Moonkist used to be my wife's favorite, she would always order it at the Mai Kai. But after discovering the Luau Coconut, I much prefer it. Maybe it's that fresh coconut water. What rums did you use?

I used Brugal Especial & Cockspur for both. I've been subbing in Cockspur instead of gold PR or Virgin Islands recently, it fits the bill just fine.

The 'killer' for having either drinks regularly is needing the coconut milk or coconut water, I rarely have them on hand. As a note, the water from the young coconut was nicer (nuttier, less sweet) than the Carribean or Asian stuff I have had before. It was fun to eat the coconut flesh but I got bored of the flavour about 1/4 of the way through.

To get all geared up for the drinks probably cost as much as 2 $100 Mai Tais - maybe an occasional treat when I see the young coconuts available rather than a home bar staple. But seeing I have the ingredients on hand, I'll try them again at least the weekend - I may try upscaling the Bajan rum to something else.

But I may have to turn in my TC membership card, I want another Albuquerque Old Fashioned now - yowser, that's a good drink, best of the three! :)
