I'm ArchTiki, Signing in from Oakland, CA. New to Tiki, I had been frequenting Smuggler's Cove, the Tonga Room, Forbidden Island, etc. And decided to try my own hand at creating some of these concoctions. I have since picked up the Smuggler's Cove cocktail book, and begun a mini tiki liquor cabinet, taking after the Author's system of rum categories. I currently have Hamilton's Jamaican Gold, Mount Gay Eclipse, Plantation 5 year, Ron Bermudez Aniversario 12 Year, Cruzan Black Strap, and Hamilton's 151.
I'm a bit of a kitchen tinkerer, and fermentation enthusiast; I brew beer, bake bread (sourdough), make mead, and ferment veggies (sauerkraut, peppers, etc). Another passion of mine is ciriculture, the propagation and growing of citrus, along with the fruit/veggie/herb garden in my small backyard.
I look forward to getting to know the tiki community here and locally!
You had me at sourdough. Do you also make kimchee?
