bamalamalu our days match the day of the month. We arrived on November 1st and that was day 1. Did you go to Smith's Tropical Paradise?
I have never lived with a dog. My parents and then Dan and I have always been cat people. Funny how that works out.

=============================

The way back home from Kauai began on Day 15. We were due home on that same day but as it turned out we got to the Sacramento Airport at 7 am on Day 16.

Here's the end of our trip to Kauai story.

We said goodbye to the Sheraton.

One last drive through the Old Town Koloa.

It's not often that you get to see a couple of palm trees being drug down the street.

Look what happened recently to Little Lola's palm tree in her backyard.

I love McDonald's oatmeal and Dan liked the local's breakfast so we stopped here on the way to the airport.

I got a kick out of this truck in the parking lot.

We arrived four hours early as planned by Dan. We asked about our gate and a security guard whipped out two boxes and lei'd us! Then sent us on to our gate.

At the Kauai Airport we were greeted by a gecko.

After four hours waiting in the airport lounge we were on the plane to Oahu a quick 45 minute flight.

Leaving Kauai behind, so sad but it will be great to get home.

We flew over the ocean while looking at the clouds below.

Arriving on the island of Oahu.

We had one hour until our next flight. We ran to the gate and found the flight delayed from 2:30 PM until 5:00 PM. We were told to go away until 5.

We walked through every gift shop. There was a shot glass that I bought for Dan. It had tikis and I wanted one too. I found another "last one" at this shop.

Next we found a table and bought a meal. We ate very slowly and watched out the window at the airport activity. Not bad to have a view of Diamond Head.

We were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow. It lasted for about 15 minutes and then it was gone. We were so lucky to have seen it.

At 5 PM we were back at our gate to find the next message. The plane was delayed for another 5 hours. We were directed to another gate.

The weirdest thing. They sent us to a closed down section of the airport. The busy part had a 3 stall bathroom for women with long lines. Here we had a huge bathroom that went on forever.

Here's another isle. No one using it either.

It was dark and the gift shops were all closed.

We found out that the delay was caused when the food delivery truck for our plane had a bad driver. He ran the truck into the plane so hard it caused structural damage. It had to be repaired and then inspected before we could fly to the mainland. Inspection is a really good idea.

We relaxed and read books. I kept thinking that they would eventually send us to a hotel. But at 10 PM they started boarding.

We were so tired.

When we got to the Sacramento Airport the luggage parasol kept breaking down. An hour later we got our luggage.

Another hour to drive home. All together we were up for 23 hours from hotel to home. But no real mishaps and our home was
still intact. So it was a perfect trip.

WooHooWahine is working on our next trip. If you need an excellent travel agent she is here on Tiki Central. She is a professional who will work hard for you.

Tomorrow I'll share our trip treasures that we brought home and are now displaying. Cheers, Wendy
