After you finally end up dumping the kidney bean & oil (hec, you know you'll end up doing that), clean the inside as best as you can and put distilled water and a mixture of food coloring (remember, red + blue make purple!!) and fill 'the bastard' with the colored water. That's what I did with my vintage barber bottles in my bathroom. Remember to fill it to the very top and leave as little air in it as possible. I've had mine filled for 4 years with no problems or color change whatsoever. Place a low watt light behind it and light it up!

Plus, if you get bored with the same color, just make another color mixture! During Christmas you can make a light colored mixture (or just distilled H2O) with colorful glitter and you'll have yourself a Holiday Bastard Snow 'globe'!
