It looks like the Club Lei Lani started in 1942 and was designed as a tropical spot for WW II defense workers and service men.
The owners were the Bennet brothers who also owned the drive-in next door.
It was taken over in 1950 by Monkey Kirkland who turned it into a burlesque club that lasted a couple of years.
