Badd Tiki that is so funny. Tiki does consume each day of our lives. Thank you.

hang10tiki I completely forgot about that bowl. It was larger and heavier. Mike Remmel designed it and came over to help make it with suggestions and I even put clay in his hands a few times to freak him out!!!

=================================

HERE IS THE REST OF THE STORY...

The Wish List sculpts are done. My schedule has been:

Casting pieces starting in June 2016 so I could just pull something off the shelf and make the Wishes.

October 2016 I sculpted the next Sacramento Crawl mug. I started just days after the crawl.

Started working on Wishes even though I said I wouldn't start until the end of December. I accomplished something almost every day.

We made the mold for the crawl mug 10/26/16 and got it drying. The fastest start ever!

Once the mold was dry on 12/22/17 we cast the first mug. Every day we cast one crawl mug and did this for 85 days.

In addition to the Wishes I spent 1.5 hours each morning cleaning and fine tuning one crawl mug. I will be sharing more photos in the future.

As of last week I am down to the last 5 crawl mugs to glaze. All the rest are boxed and ready for the October crawl. Check out the CA events page for information.

I continued to work on the Wishes 7 days a week finishing the sculpting yesterday.

Here's the rest of the story.

During this time I developed an irregular heart beat. I wore a halter monitor for 24 hours. The tape is horrible. The tests just showed PVC's which for my age is normal. Good news.

At the same appointment I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel on the left side. I've had the surgery on the right a decade ago. Too much clay work. I pushed it every day. I have to wear this brace at night. It keeps my first two fingers and thumb from going completely numb.

The best part is I surpassed all my goals and now Dan and I are going to take around a month off while all the projects dry. Then it will be a marathon to sand and bisque fire and to start the glazing. With the crawl mugs all done it will go much faster than all the sculpting.

If I have surgery on my hand I will wait until all of these projects have been completed and shipped. If I am lucky taking time off will repair my hand.

Meanwhile here are some more photos of life and clay days.

==================================

On a trip to Tiki Oasis we got a small crack from a rock. Time to replace the windshield.

I thought this would be a fun photo.

But a few moments later I found that he had already put the black sealer around the window and I had it on my arm and I had transferred it to my camera and then to my shirt. That stuff sticks like tar.

You all know I love to alter Tiki Bob's. I also love these mid-century cats. So here's a purrrrrrrrfect fit.

========================

My plan is to not do anything with my hand that I can avoid. No typing or repetition in movements.

My thread here on Tiki Central is now going to be run by hang10tiki until I return to work in a month, maybe less if I start to go crazy. But for now this is goodbye.

I hope you can all have fun posting here while I'm gone. I will look forward to reading these at the end. This is going to be a challenge for me but if I turn on the computer I will want to respond to messages so the computer will stay off.

Have a great month. Thank you hang10tiki for taking over while Dan and I just relax and play with no clay in sight. Horrors, I'll miss you all and the clay.

Cheers, Wendy
