Jefe, this is my line of thinking, too. No offense to Thor and whatever his specific involvement with this mug was, but I still think this just looks sloppy. I truly had a difficult time discerning that there was an elephant here (let alone two). I’m no ceramic artist and couldn’t have done better, but surely Disney has the resources to figure it out. What’s worse is if this was intentionally kitschy in a ironic/meta/hipster kind of way; that doesn’t really help tiki culture anymore than getting into nasty, bitter arguments about what is “authentically” tiki (which, for the record, I don’t think is happening here on this thread). Just because the mug will be collectible, make some people money, and is creating “drama,” doesn’t mean it’s a great mug.
