Sorry I should’ve been more clear.
What I meant was
Unlike master Will and master Cy I don’t have a chainsaw.
So I had to clean/make the top even or look better
Here’s what I used.

Once I got the bark off,
I used the angle grinder to take off the second layer of dark crap
to expose the nice white ash wood color
