Each day is fun in the Cevola household. We have projects that take days, some that take hours. Here is a project that took 5 or 10 minutes on and off for a couple of days.

We were In a thrift shop in Yuba City a while back and I saw these two beautiful African lamps. They were on sale for $5 each. I just felt the need to rescue them. So I bought them and brought them home to repair. The process is the same I have used on tiki mugs for many years. In fact that's how I became a tiki artist. It all started with repairing Dan's collected mugs.

Both lamps were abused at the thrift store. I could tell the damage on both was brand new. Such a shame.

This is my go to product for filling chips or even larger areas like the eyes on the lamp.

You fill it with layers letting each one completely dry so they don't crack.

I use a wet brush to sculpt the putty in place.

Then at the end you over fill so

you can sand it.

Then I mix acrylic paint to match the color. If I couldn't get it close I would have painted the entire lamp or spray painted them.

This lamp had a tight hairline that I was able to putty a bit. Now I will paint layers to hide it.

One done.

Both finished. Now I will look for a home for them to go to.

This was just fun to do, Wendy
