However, I also only have ceilings just over 7', and that combined with time and budget constraints led me to avoid LED/fiber optic options (for now at least). For the time being, I opted for an easy compromise and got a laser star projector. The stars are green laser pinpoints (not white) and the pattern is a little bit regular, but for a quick-and-dirty solution I think it works. At some point I would love to do a fiber optic star ceiling or projection mapping, but I'll have to wait a long time for my wife to recover from what I've already spent so far. :)
