Keep tying them, you will get better and better.

Plus next time write down the length of your rope and the size of the float you are tying and that way you will have a guide for next time and will not have to tie knots with a really long rope as you will have an idea of how long it will need to be and can cut rope down a bit before tying float.

So measure the rope you have first and subtract the amount left over from that after you tie the float and you have the length needed for that size float.

Plus it sucks to get to the end and find out you need only ten feet more of rope to finish your float.
