What is kinda odd though is how popular the reggae style is in Hawaii. It irks me and the old timers in Hawaiian music to see how the newer generation of Hawaiian musicians have neglected their instrument (the steel guitar) and classic style of Hawaiian music (not just hapa haole wiki wiki stuff!).

Oh well. The flame of Hawaiian music and steel guitar burn furiously in my heart (and upper colon)...

The same thing happened with african music...a lot of the previously cool "township jive" bands have mutated to reggae...
