The Root of Jimmy Buffet Bashing - Beyond Tiki

The only Tiki bar/restaurant in our area seems to have an affinity for playing Buffet and Paul Simon alternately. Valentines weekend we had to listen to a whole Buffet album there. I've tried to suggest more exotica without seeming like a Tiki snob but to no effect. I've toyed with the idea of giving them a burned CD of Denny and Lyman stuff and have not for ethical reasons. But geeze!...if that guy keeps looking for his "lost shaker of salt" while I'm trying to enjoy the decor and feel all Polynesian poppy I'll go nuts.
