My technique for Black Velvet paintings is to layer paint over the area and then I am able to do as much detail as needed and if I make a mistake, I am able to fix it. I did two layers, then I blocked in the different parts. Then I painted a layer on the sarong in yellow. This took days because of drying each layer overnight.
