You gotta keep something from the old place. I like them, they have a certain 'je ne sais quoi'. They match with the decor quite nicely, in my opinion. And it's not like you're short on tiki decor elsewhere... no one is going to walk in, see the lamps, and say 'hey, I thought this was a tiki bar - I must have walked into Medieval Tymes by accident!'
