Estate sale find last year. I wasn't sure what it was because I wasn't educated in Witco at the time but I took a chance and the price was downright cheap. Thanks to Butcher at Butcher's Tiki Works, I learned this was offered in a Witco catalog (circa 1966?), p. 16, as K550 "God of Fertility", dimensions 14"x17"x72". I believe the only other Witcos produced near this size is the"Islander" fountain and "Big Joe" Three Faced Idol. This tiki's identity was confirmed by Heather Pleasant of Witco Decor. The previous owner had covered K550 in house paint which hid it's gorgeous grain and color, so I had it professionally stripped. I then hand brushed, torched and waxed it with Howard's wax; a lengthy restoration process. It's HEAVY. Like telephone pole heavy.
