Their website has some history. Seems to be the original company involved. Apparently since 1889 it's been produced by the Compagnie Rhumière de Bâle (with the CRB incorporated in the name).

So, distilled and matured in Jamaica, then blended and bottled in Basel, Switzerland! I'd always assumed it was all Jamaican, but there you go. I'm thinking with the resurgence of craft cocktails and interest in finer drinking experiences they decided to step up their game. Perhaps that's why you can find the older labeled bottles for 16 bucks. I think I'll head out and pick up a couple more!
