Since it seems to be so hard to find I thought I'd mention that there are about 8 bottles for $16.99 at a place called Remedy Liquor & Wine Cellar on Glenoaks at Western (as of Friday, March 7th). Aloha! |

Oh dang, what a time to not be working in Burbank after 15 years of doing it! Normally I'd go to Mission Wine & Spirits on Glenoaks, but I know the location you're talking about. You're saying they have their dark rum, correct? That's usually what I assume but Mission carried their coconut and only their coconut for all the years I was down there. |

Aloha Kkocka, It is NOT the Coruba Dark (that says dark on the label). It is the regular one with the orange label... although described as a "dark full flavored Jamaican Rum" on the back label! |

That being said, I got curious about the different labels and checked their website. ALL the labels are different now and there are a number of different styles of rum listed so someone who knows more than I do needs to chime in. Check it out! |

Wow, a lot has definitely changed! I need to do some digging and see what's up with the massive rebrand and expansion. I really miss Coruba Dark, "Non Plus Ultra" absolutely does not roll off the tongue. |

Yeah I don't see the dark anywhere on the Coruba website, bummer. I just ordered two bottles online. The dark rum had to be their best seller, right? I've never even heard of the others. Maybe some bonehead bought the brand. I hope the dark isn't gone. [ Edited by BlackWater on 2025-03-24 10:34:23 ] |

Their website has some history. Seems to be the original company involved. Apparently since 1889 it's been produced by the Compagnie Rhumière de Bâle (with the CRB incorporated in the name). So, distilled and matured in Jamaica, then blended and bottled in Basel, Switzerland! I'd always assumed it was all Jamaican, but there you go. I'm thinking with the resurgence of craft cocktails and interest in finer drinking experiences they decided to step up their game. Perhaps that's why you can find the older labeled bottles for 16 bucks. I think I'll head out and pick up a couple more! [ Edited by spy-tiki on 2025-03-24 19:02:53 ] |
