Mine has carved boxes with diffusion paper around the little bulbs. At some point I expect I'll migrate the decorative boxes to a similar LED strand, but I've yet to get around to it. Those Phillips bulbs are nifty but I've yet to have a light build where they wouldn't be total overkill. Of course, I haven't built any really big lamps yet, so I can see their utility there.
