Mistake #2: Using PVC Bamboo That Had a Visible Seam My first synthetic bamboo poles were the split-tube type (slit down the back so they snap over existing posts). Easy to install, but that seam is super obvious up close. I thought I could hide it. You can't. What I learned: If you want synthetic bamboo that looks real, you need seamless extruded poles with molded nodes. They cost more, but the seam-free ones are night and day. The cheap split tubes are only good if you're covering them with something else (or working at night). One more mistake coming up. |
