If you're looking beyond the big brands, I'd put Norse Code Hel Above on your list. It has a much more authentic brewed coffee flavour than most coffee liqueurs I've tried and isn't as sweet as Kahlúa, so it makes an excellent Espresso Martini without tasting syrupy.

If you prefer something richer for sipping or Baby Guinness shots, Hel Below is worth a look too. It's sweeter and has a fuller body, but still tastes like real coffee rather than coffee-flavoured sugar.

I'd recommend trying them side by side with Mr Black and Kahlúa—you'll quickly see how different the styles are.
