On the mister/fogger another much cheaper route to go is to purchase an ultrasonic humidifier. I see these regularly at thrift stores in the $5-$10 range. Make sure that they have all of the pieces and that the vibrating part vibrates properly and you should be set.

I have found new fog machines at Wal-mart the day after Halloween for about $20 so if you ever need one that's the time to think about it.
