I follow the Grog Log recipe with the addition of a teaspoons of passion fruit syrup and a tablespoon of grapefruit juice. That makes it taste a lot like the one they serve at the Mai Kai. The real trick to that drink is packing some shaved ice in a pilsener (or better yet a metal cup!) and freezing it. Then serve with a cinnamon stick. Soooo smooth. The Navy Grog is also a favorite of mine of late. Really good if you make the "ice cone" to serve it with, and get lots of zest in the lime juice.
