This was my first Tiki Oasis and I couldn't hae enjoyed it more. I showed up Saturday to work the bar gate. Otto, Mateo, and crew run a class operation. Not only did I get a ticket for volunteering, but a tiki mug and free drink as a thank you. I didn't tell 'em that I should be thanking them. While at the gate I got to meet a slew of really nice, friendly T.C.ers. and put faces to the monikers.

I was a little surprised that there wasn't tiki music around the pool. Running some speakers out there would be a good idea. Even an underwater set. That's pretty cool if you've ever heard them. With all the diverse talent on this board perhaps someone can come up with a plan. Certainly the Menehunes should have been piped out there.

I thought the burlesque dancers were a nice surprise (not knowing what to expect).
Is there such a thing as polynesian burlesque? Hell, throw a grass skirt on her and I'm sold.

I loved the dive in movie idea. Didn't even mind the small screen (I just swam to the deep end), but as above, perhaps someone can come up with a plan for a bigger screen next year.

I must have missed the undesirable types. Everyone was pretty cool. I'll be checking in for the full weekend next year!
