Tikijackalope, great finds! Yes, they are both Witco. As for the burning, the whole piece was burned at the Witco factory, of course, before being painted, so that's why there would be the traditional "Witco burn" on the back. I only have the book on the Witco process, but Keigs20 could probably give you more insight on the process if you need details. In any case, listing the Western scene as a Witco on Ebay would be telling the truth.
