No time to pull out individual pics, I'm afraid... I'm at a work conference, and have just experienced a rather life-changing (positive) event that's going to soak up even more time for awhile... here's the link to my gallery:

It was a beautiful, wonderful time! Everyone had a blast, I particularly enjoyed that everyone dressed up.

Thanks for the pics, Humuhumu. Glad that you are doing well.

It was a swell shindig indeed, the Tiki Goddess and I thought it was gonesville.

Here are a few pics posted on my site here

Great partying with you swingers, cheers!

has it actually been a week?

well, first of all, thank you to all the ohana that showed up in suport of the event!!! you WERE there at the #1 mondo event.

and thanks especially to those who helped make it work behind the scenes:

  • tiki hai for decor (with some help by our infamous chikitiki)
  • matteo for general everything
  • humuhumu and naomi for bag stuffing and much more...
  • tiki todd hackett
  • la webchick for promo
  • smogbreather, baby doe, otto, and swanky for mucho mentoring
  • dave and rebecca and the purple orchid crew for pouring da booze (including our own lady velour behind the bar)
  • dr. z and dolphin girl for correcting the rally - i never did thank them publically - so thank you guys (my prize capitan went and got himself nicely toasted - so the giveaways went a little differently than expected.)
  • sam gambino for the swell invites
  • shag for the swell glasses
  • the tiki central vendor contingent: frank and tiki farm, tiki madness, falling cocos, sneaky tiki
  • the tiki central entertainment contingent: king kukulele and c.b. howlie, gorilla x, lee joseph, senor amor, winky tiki and his gurls, cherry capri
  • casey at the Caliente Tropics for being so generous with their prizes.
  • and many many other folks who i am sure i have forgotton to include... thank you to all...

NOW here are my official "campaign promises" for next year (yes, there might indeed be a next year).

MONDO 2005:
(i don't want to turn this thread into a critique thread - so if you have feedback or suggestions - please email me or PM me...)

  • shorter rally route.
  • reward the top five rally winners.
  • nicer official hotel with friendlier service (find the Casey Jones of L.A.!)
  • 2nd stage with better view lines to the adoring public
  • keep the early bird discount for smart advanced buyers!
  • consider breaking up the event into a daytime and nighttime ticket to make it more selectively affordable OR make it a multi-day event for the price.
  • try to find a 'name' performer for the event.
  • try to find a way to add more performers to the bill.
  • add cool ephemeral gilms to the event

MONDO! MONDO! MONDO!

H

make sure your prize captain does not get himself toasted?

What a fun event it was!
The campaign promises sound good, and we'll defintely mark our calenders for next year.
Thank you Futura Girl for putting this together, and thanks to all the people who helped make this happen.
BTW, Seeing "Olive or Twist" at the Vista theatre was definitely worth getting caught in the rain afterwards.
A week late, here are a few more pics:

Dangergirl (with instructor), Mr Smiley & Mrs. kick_the_reverb, Floratina & Nathan Marsak all getting a dance lesson

That's right, big smile, everybody's happy
