Anybody else have this? It's German Import on Impact Records.

Side 2 has just 1 track, Call of the Jungle (quote: "AN EXCITING 13 MINUTE CONTINUOUS SESSION). Who knew I bought an Exotica record during my Oldies phase. Ooh, I almost forgot: vinyl is snow white!

I've got a CD of it. Somebody released it several years ago, I guess in a somerwhat limited batch. It's groovy.

I have 'Bongos! Bongos! Bongos!' but I think that's different.

To be honest, I haven't heard enought Chaino OR Candido to make the comparison. Hmm.. maybe I wouldn't even know bad bongo playing but I like Chaino.

Yeah, record labels were awful in the 50's. If you had a 45 playing the Tuba called they'ed insist it be called "Tuba Time". Then if you got 5 tracks together, they'd release an LP called "Tuba, Tuba, Tuba". If you could only scrape together 4 tracks, you'd be on "meet" album. "Tuba Tony (your name being Al) meets Oboe Joe", Your next albums would be. "Around World in 80 Tubas","It's Tuba Time Again", and finally, "Tuba Tony Plays the Beatles".

Speaking of Candido....there's a newly released CD of striptease or burlesque music (don't remember the title) that has an AWSOME Candido track called "Blue Prelude"..I'd love to get a hold of the LP (or a cd reissue) it came from, but don't seem to find the track on any of his LPs online. Anyone knoew anything about this song? Maybe it was only a single...?

Hi Kaiwaza.....Candido song is on the "Candido in Indigo".I'm listening to it right now.I can see how it could be used for a striptease album. It's on ABC-Paramount ABCS-236.If you want it send me an email.Matter of fact,go to my blog Tuesday or Wednesday and I'll post it....www.tikitim43.blogspot.com

For everyone's information, the CD
is apparently "Tease! The Beat of
Burlesque" (Verve: B0004393-02)

Back of CD:
"Hard-honking horns; slinky rhythyms; heart-throbbing beats . . . This soundtrack to the new burlesque is
the sound of vintage rhythym & blues, bump-and-grind exotica, and hipster jazz working its magic to uncover
hidden desires and soft, sultry curves."

Track listing (also from the back of the CD):

The Nervous Beat - The Creed Taylor Orchestra
Funky Blues - Charlie Parker
Real Gone - Sam "The Man" Taylor
St. Louis Blues - Slim Gaillard and His Southern
Fried Orchestra
Harlem Nocturne - Sam "The Man" Taylor and His Cat Men
Sam's Blues - Sam "The Man" Taylor
Blue Prelude - Candido Camero
Honey Rock - Barney Kessel
St. James Infirmary - The Creed Taylor Orchestra
Slow Walk - Sil Austin
Purple Wail - Red Prysock
You Did It, You Did It - Roland Kirk
Toots Shor's Blues - Elmer Bernstein
The Stripper - David Rose

(You KNEW that last one would be there, right?)

I guess you had better be a "Sam 'The Man' Taylor" fan,
eh? I managed to end up with TWO of the CD's off of
eBay. As far as I know, they are still available there
occasionally. Both of mine have a hole punched through
the UPC code on the back and a label reading [This com-
pact disc is the property of the applicable record la-
bel and is being provided for promotional use only.
Resale is unlawful and may be punishable under federal
and state laws.] is located on the front, near the top.

I could try to take pics of the tray cards and CD if
anyone wants. The pics are largely lingerie-style and
the image on the CD is quite UNremarkable. Line art-
style drawing of a woman, obstensibly nude, drawing
back on a bow and arrow. The CD is red with black art
and only has the CD title on the CD itself besides the
art. I wish that they had made the CD itself nicer and
more informative, but que sera sera. I haven't listened
to it yet, so I can't review the music included.

tikigik,

Excellent info, thanks!
I'm gonna go hunting for it!

Awful? That’s absolutely beautiful! In the seventies it might have been Tubular Tubas. Now that’s awful!
