Speaking of Candido....there's a
newly released CD of striptease
or burlesque music (don't remember
the title) that has an AWSOME
Candido track called "Blue Prelude"
..I'd love to get a hold of the LP
(or a cd reissue) it came from, but
don't seem to find the track on any
of his LPs online. Anyone knoew
anything about this song? Maybe it
was only a single...?

For everyone's information, the CD
is apparently "Tease! The Beat of
Burlesque" (Verve: B0004393-02)

Back of CD:
"Hard-honking horns; slinky rhythyms; heart-throbbing beats . . . This soundtrack to the new burlesque is
the sound of vintage rhythym & blues, bump-and-grind exotica, and hipster jazz working its magic to uncover
hidden desires and soft, sultry curves."

Track listing (also from the back of the CD):

The Nervous Beat - The Creed Taylor Orchestra
Funky Blues - Charlie Parker
Real Gone - Sam "The Man" Taylor
St. Louis Blues - Slim Gaillard and His Southern
Fried Orchestra
Harlem Nocturne - Sam "The Man" Taylor and His Cat Men
Sam's Blues - Sam "The Man" Taylor
Blue Prelude - Candido Camero
Honey Rock - Barney Kessel
St. James Infirmary - The Creed Taylor Orchestra
Slow Walk - Sil Austin
Purple Wail - Red Prysock
You Did It, You Did It - Roland Kirk
Toots Shor's Blues - Elmer Bernstein
The Stripper - David Rose

(You KNEW that last one would be there, right?)

I guess you had better be a "Sam 'The Man' Taylor" fan,
eh? I managed to end up with TWO of the CD's off of
eBay. As far as I know, they are still available there
occasionally. Both of mine have a hole punched through
the UPC code on the back and a label reading [This com-
pact disc is the property of the applicable record la-
bel and is being provided for promotional use only.
Resale is unlawful and may be punishable under federal
and state laws.] is located on the front, near the top.

I could try to take pics of the tray cards and CD if
anyone wants. The pics are largely lingerie-style and
the image on the CD is quite UNremarkable. Line art-
style drawing of a woman, obstensibly nude, drawing
back on a bow and arrow. The CD is red with black art
and only has the CD title on the CD itself besides the
art. I wish that they had made the CD itself nicer and
more informative, but que sera sera. I haven't listened
to it yet, so I can't review the music included.
