It's a small block of bird's eye maple. It's rock hard, but it's a gorgeous piece of wood, the pic doesn't do it justice. I'm not going to use any stain on this one, I'm just going to sand the crap out of it and use some satin poly. I have the feeling my poor fingers are going to suffer a bit with this one.
