Another benefit that I don't think has been mentioned is bamboo has natural anti-microbial properties, meaning if you work up a nice sweat your garment won't end up smelling like a wet dog.

I thought with the way bamboo grows it would be a cheaper fabric?? I'm still very interested, is it just because it's new?? do you think the price will come down i'm looking at it to buy in bulk and silkscreen on it..I do have a bamboo button up shirt(dressy) from billabong i bought this past summer and yes it is so soft and breathable. Just curious about $$..

Apparently to bad weather in China it has been a bad time for bamboo production. Also prices here have gone up due to the extremely high volume being bought by the US.

There's always the weather issue but the gas issue of late has spiked everything.
