got some old snow runs in on friday..... and was dragged out on a beautiful Sunday of fresh powder kicking and screaming... me ride was out early to beat traffic home......

Once again, we discover the joy of finding tiki, grass skirts, and other items from a tropical setting making an appearance in wintery conditions. My theory is that the flavor of a mai tai is enhanced when you know that big snowflakes are falling outside the front door, and one fully understands the need to temporarily live the spirit of a Pacific paradise.

My favorite postacrds of the Kahiki is the one with the picture taken in winter, with the fresh layer of snow, with the flames atop the Moai heads providing a welcome beacon to come inside.
