Time is starting to run out... We have a new website up and running. There is an online petition we need signatures for... We have a myspace page so if you are a member there, please add us and put us in your top 8. And Lastly, but most importanly, the Neon Museum is soliciting donations so they can make their matching funds and any little bit will help. Every dollar donated is worth double due to the matching funds. So please spread the word and help us Save La Concha. [ Edited by: Futura Girl 2005-12-15 23:56 ] |

I remember seeing this hotel on one of my last trips to Vegas. Musta been 1995. I was staying at the Circus Circus with my ex-girlfriend and some other friends we met up there. One of them said, 'look how cool that place is, we should stay there next time'. Anyway, when I saw the title to this thread I knew exactly what you were talking about. I hope this place doesn't meet the wrecking ball. I'm getting a little tired of seeing these really cool mid-century buildings biting the dust. As if these new ones they put up are cooler. NOT! I can just see how these developers look down their noses at something like La Concha as passe' and envision their new ridiculous looking oppressive glass boxes as being 'cutting edge'. |
