what is it?

My girlfriend got this 25" tall statue for Christmas. We think it's tiki. It appears to be hand carved and doesn't have any information stamped or carved on it. Does anyone know what it is, or where it's from? Or even when?

Hmm, looks like it's SUPPOSED to be a Tiki, with a Hawaiian head dress. It seems like a Filipino dragon mask carver's attempt to branch out into Tiki statue carving. We had some posts on those masks here somewhere...(don't know under what search word to find them though).

As an additional piece, hidden among lots of other Tiki jetsam and flotsam, that baby could pass.
