I searched the forums and was not able to find out if this was discussed or not but i just called Barnes and Noble and they told me that the publisher changed the release date for Tiki Modern to October 13th? I was wondering if anybody else has heard this same information????

I called two separate B&N and they told me the exact same date? Do we have to wait even longer for this awesome book........

Go here for the latest updates. :)

It seems it's being published on "tiki time" which doens't really observe hard deadlines.

Very true. The only thing that I was able to get definite deadlines on was that A.) There will be enough books at the Hollywood store for the book launch on the 13th, and B.) There will be enough books for the European book tour beginning in Hamburg on the 20th. But these will probably be on special order sent straight from the main distribution warehouse, I can't say when the other various outlets (Amazon, other stores) will get their orders, and what the turnaround time is, nobody tells me nuthin' from the publisher's side.
I have the new Miguel Covarrubias book on order with Amazon for over a month now, and they just extended their waiting time, although my friends bought a copy at the San Diego Comicon several weeks ago!

Thank you for clearing that up. I guess i just need to have patients….which isn’t easy after seeing some of the photos that were posted!

maybe we have to make an offering to maui, who roped the playful sun

Just got mine in the mail today directly from Taschen!
I'm speechless..........

I just want mine before I head to Florida next month for some pool reading material but I'm thinking I won't get it before the early part of the month.

Received a notice from Amazon that my order had pushed out to October 5th (original date September 15th).

What gives?

I got the Amazon notice too. Essentially this is poor planning. It is not rocket science to be able to announce a delivery date given that production has to be scheduled well in advance. If the book is not ready for production, production gets set back. Publishing 101. Announcing a delivery date that was a "what if" kind of thing is what is happening here. Some will say "but it will be worth the wait" and that is the excuse that allows people not to meet commitments. It does not make any difference how good it is. If it was promised by a given deadline, it needed to be delivered. Period.

I got my copy ordered at Amazon. I am featuring it on my main page:

The only theory I can offfer why only some people's orders get delayed and some don't is that Amazon and the other retailers underestimated the demand and under-ordered the book, so now they are out of stock and have to re-order.
