Ahoy All! Time to stop lurking around here and share a new carving in progress.. Thought I'd try a traditional tiki this time. This lil' guy is carved from a piece of Basswood Benzart gave me a while back (Thanks again Ben!). Stands about 8 inches tall. Getting down to the nitty-gritty.. Open to any comments/suggestions for the details and finishing.. Thanks for looking! |

Here's more progress.. Controlling the symmetry has gotten tougher in the deeper areas, but he's balancing out ok. The armpit areas were tough for sure.. Thanks for looking! |

Nice form...it's hard to nail the angles on Tangaroa just right, and you've done it well. I've only carved three in my own career. You'll be ready for fishing soon! |

Very Nice! That guy is goin to look great with stain. Stained basswod will give him excellent tonal variation. Can't wait to see him done. |
